Instead, I depend on my extensive cross-media design experience. I rely on a solid strategy to build upon. I bank on my ability to work ahead of the trends. And I trust in my gift to question everything.

Honestly, I think the band, Boston, pretty much summed up my approach to design: “It’s more than a feeling.”

That's what I try to do every day. To create clean, inventive and usable designs, on the web and in print. I currently work at Colossal Squid in Chicago, but I'm always game for a side project or two. Holla at me and we'll discuss.

designmeltdown.com

Last week, I received a tweet from @brookeduckart, “Did you see your site is an example for ‘Personal Sites’ on Design Meltdown post today? Sweet action.” Agree, this is sweet action! Over the years, I have used Design Meltdown as a web design reference to keep up with the trends, help me with design problems and inspiration for design elements. So, when I found out my site was used as an example for the recent article, Personal Sites Part 2: Ego Surfing at its Best, I was overly thrilled. Patrick McNeil states, “The personal site can closely resemble a portfolio site, and often the line between them is rather fuzzy. All the same this collection of samples represents sites that serve to show more of a full view of a person as oppose to simply a huge display of work.” So thanks to Patrick and Design Meltdown for using my site as a sample for this article. If you have a moment, please check out all that Design Meltdown has to offer. It’s a wonderful resource!

kpanke on Pristina.org

Look mom, I am on the Internets! This morning my site design popped up on Pristina.org. Thanks for the support and recognizing my site design.  Since the site isn’t in my native tongue, I wanted to share what I translated from the “Sobr O Blog” page on Pristina.org. It states, “My idea is to share with anyone what I am finding online. Because the more people have access to quality design, the better the design produce” (Felipe Tofani). Glad to see that other people share my passion for design and good design on top of that. Looking forward in seeing what else Pristina.org has to offer. Visit for some sweet design stuff.

I hope you enjoy it. It’s almost finished. Still have to complete all the bells and whistles. From getting my portfolio together to gathering my downloads to all the little things make it “complete.” Come on, I am a designer, which corresponds to I am a perfectionist.
